All you need to know

Plan of Preparation for unexpected events

A plan of preparation for survival is crucial for any individual family or an organization as the world as we know it has changed. Viral outbreaks, Civil unrest, and Raging wars have threatened the way of life. This article contains all you need to know for a plan of preparation.

One of the main reasons people don’t prepare for what could happen is that they take comfort in their current lifestyle and don’t want to overlook the challenges they could face. This is also known as Stagnation.

Let me explain to you. If someone is employed in the same company in the same position for about 2-3 years, they get used to the same lifestyle and a fixed mindset. On the downside, they get trapped in a comfort zone and stop challenging themselves. The same goes for disaster preparation. If you are up to date with the news, by now you know life as we know it could change.

Pandemics, political stress, economic stress, etc. keep adjusting to the way of life. Hoping for the worst it doesn’t hurt to be a little prepared for what could go wrong.

The Plan of Preparation – What to consider?

What to consider

Preparation is not just about buying the most expensive survivalist equipment and building underground bunkers. It is up to you and your family to decide on a plan of preparation. Imagine you are in an apartment in New York and you are facing a power cut that could last a few weeks. You may not want to take your family to a bugout location in this kind of situation. But being a little prepared with a few candles, flashlights, little extra food and blankets could change your stance.

In summary, your plan of preparation is up to you and it depends on factors like

  • Where you live
  • Your family members
  • Risk factors

Where you live

If you are living in a coastal area, landslides may not be your first concern. You may want to focus more on seawater level elevations. If you are living in an apartment complex you may want to be ready for a different set of scenarios.

So, you need to consider your demographics, and neighbors when you are coming up with a plan of preparation.

Your family members

Your family members is an important factor in your preparation plan.

Depending on your family you may have different needs. Medications and other toolings like wheelchairs, etc. If you have teenagers in the family, you need to think of how you can keep them busy when there are no internet and video games. Few books, comics board games may come in handy.

You may need to adjust your mobility approaches considering all in the family.

So, think of each member and identify what you need to store. What you need resupply when needed. Having these planned could ease a lot of stress.

Concepts of Adaptability

The evaluation itself depends on adaptability. One should be able to learn new things quickly and they should also be able to Unlearn what they learned, and believed. In a rapidly changing world, you must learn to unlearn as well. One who is so caught up in things they learned and believed cannot move on and adapt to new situations. Learning and unlearning are how you adapt.
